Read the status in context.
The dashboard shows a message's current status, recorded events and available failure information. The API provides the same account-scoped message record.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Accepted | The submission passed validation and was recorded. This is an event in the message history; the initial current status is normally Queued. |
| Queued | The message is waiting to be sent. An account's configured sending hours can delay its eligibility. |
| Assigned / Transferring / Sending | Processing is under way. These are progress states, not confirmation that the recipient has the message. |
| Sent | The message was submitted to the delivery network. This is not recipient delivery confirmation or a read receipt. |
| Failed | The recorded sending attempt could not be completed. Inspect the available failure information before deciding what to do next. |
| Received | An incoming message was recorded by MMS Express. It is not a receipt for an earlier outgoing message. |
MMS Express does not currently expose a delivery-confirmed or read status. A reply is a separate incoming message; a possible association with an earlier message does not prove that earlier document was read.
Reliability is measured, not assumed.
Operational monitoring tracks sending progress, failures and performance changes. Any public performance report must use the following rules. This methodology is not a published service-level guarantee, and no production success figure is claimed here.
- Define the cohort. Count distinct outbound MMS message IDs accepted within an explicit start-inclusive, end-exclusive period. State the time zone and the outcome observation cutoff.
- Keep the denominator. Report the accepted count, Sent count, Failed count and unresolved count together. A recorded-send proportion is Sent divided by accepted messages in that cohort, not a delivery rate.
- Separate unlike traffic. Report production messages, controlled tests and demonstration samples separately. Exclude inbound messages and rejected submissions from the accepted cohort, but report rejection counts separately where relevant.
- Count messages once. Replays of an accepted request and multiple attempts for one message do not create extra successes. Describe retry counts separately.
- Keep uncertainty visible. Messages without a terminal recorded outcome remain unresolved at the cutoff. Do not silently remove slow, ambiguous or failed cases to improve a percentage.
- Publish enough context. Give sample size, period, document-size bands, exclusions and known limitations. Suppress small or identifying groups and obtain approval before publishing customer or network comparisons.
A future delivery-confirmed metric would require a separately validated recipient-delivery signal and its own denominator. The current Sent event cannot supply that evidence.
Measure the wait as well as the send.
For end-to-end recorded-send timing, start at acceptance and end at the first recorded Sent event. State whether the time includes a configured sending window. Report sample count and median and 95th-percentile duration for completed observations, alongside the unresolved count and age.
Queue time and active sending time may be analysed separately only when both boundary timestamps exist. Missing timestamps are unknown, never zero. Late outcomes should be labelled as revisions to an earlier report.
If the outcome remains uncertain, check the existing message record and seek help before sending another copy. For API timeouts, retain the original idempotency key and unchanged request. Read the retry guidance.
Website availability is not MMS delivery.
A working website or responsive API does not prove that an MMS reached a phone. This page does not display a live operational status or claim verified network-wide coverage.
Public availability or coverage reports require a named update owner, dated evidence and clear unknown or stale states. Practical suitability still depends on the recipient's network service, device, settings and the message itself. Review compatibility considerations or ask about a controlled evaluation.
